Hi, I'm Ilina - an angel investor focused on startups improving planetary health.

I used to work as a management consultant until reading that Cape Town was running out of water. That inspired me to pivot to more purposeful work. I joined UN-Habitat, supporting sustainable urban development projects globally. Then I worked at two different VCs to learn the investor mindset.

In my time as a VC, I realised that many investors are poorly equipped to handle actual sustainability challenges - whether its with a lack of impact metrics, or prioritizing the next EV unicorn vs funding solutions that actually tackle environmental issues. I get that "climate tech" is hype nowadays, but protecting our shared planet isn't hype - it's existential!
